How To Prevent Being Bullied

  1. Walk away, this may stop them from picking on you.
  2. Ignore them, sometimes if they do not get the reaction they expect, they will stop.
  3. Tell the bully you do not like what they are doing and if they don’t stop you will tell an adult about the problem.
  4. Always try to solve the problem yourself before getting an adult to help.
  5. Don’t let the bully know they have upset or scared you.
  6. If someone is bullying you, tell yourself what they are saying is wrong and that you are a good person.
  7. Make a joke of what the bully did, this may stop them in their tracks.
  8. Don’t be afraid to ask for help from an adult if you really tried to solve the problem yourself.
  9. If a bully makes you mad, take time to cool off before you act.
  10. Don’t fight back when if a bully wants to fight.

Why Kids Bully

  1. To get attention.
  2. To get a feeling of power.
  3. They are sometimes abused themselves.
  4. The use of violence for some is the only way they know how to handle a problem.
  5. To show off.
  6. Some just like to make others feel afraid.
  7. Some bully because they themselves have been bullied.
  8. Some bully because they are jealous of the person they are bulling.
  9. They feel that bullying makes them popular.
  10. Bullies do not feel good about themselves.
